Updated: Many feared dead as violence breaks out in Taraba

Many persons are feared dead as violence broke out on Saturday in Wukari, Taraba State.
The violence was said to have erupted after an argument over a mosque turned bloody.
Some men were said to have engaged in an argument over a mosque though the details were unknown.
Sources at the scene said one of the men was holding a gun.
In an attempt to forcefully take the loaded gun from the man, an accidental discharge occurred, killing one of the men at the scene instantly.
This then resulted in a free-for-all, with several persons already confirmed dead.
The violence is still raging as at press time.

Meanwhile, the Taraba State Government has slammed a 24-hour curfew on Wukari.

No fewer than 10 corpses have been deposited in hospitals mortuaries in the town as at the time of updating this report.
