Five young men are presently telling officers and men of the Special Anti-robbery Squad attached to Lagos State Police Command what they know in connection with the breaking into a company and carting away goods valued at N29m.
Police sources claimed that while some of the men were beginning to sing like birds on all their past criminal activities, others are still not playing ball.
The young men whose names were given as Okwudili Godwin, Obina Ilojebe, Ikem Ejimofor, Ndubusi Ike and Ejimofor Nwampa allegedly stormed Honda Place Company and carted away assorted Honda spare parts.
According to the police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, the suspected armed robbers, who gained entrance into the Plot 9 Block ‘A’ Rainbow Bus Stop along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway office of the company, attacked the security guards on duty, who tried to stop them from entering.
The bandits were said to have inflicted injuries on the guards who tried to play heroes.
Luck however ran out on the robbers as policemen, who were acting on a tip-off, surrounded the premises of the company and cordoned off strategic escape routes.
This move made it difficult for the suspected bandits to escape.
It was further gathered that although some of the spare parts were already loaded and taken to their hideout in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos State, the police immediately stormed the hideout in Maya village.
A lorry load of Honda automobile spare parts were recovered from the suspects.
Braide explained that investigations were still ongoing into the incident.
