The former Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on the fuel subsidy probe, Hon. Farouk Lawan; and the Secretary of the committee, Boniface Emenalo, have been granted bail by an Abuja High Court in the case of bribery brought against them by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission.
Lawan and Emenalo, who have been in Kuje Prison since last week, were accused of collecting a bribe of $620,000 from oil magnate and Chairman of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited, Femi Otedola.
The alleged bribe was for the two men to remove Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited from the list of companies indicted in the fuel subsidy probe by the Reps committee.
