2015: Group drums support for Jonathan/Sambo second term

A group under the aegis of Jonathan/Sambo Solidarity Forum Home and Abroad has called on Nigerians to disregard claims of a one term pact between President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, as alluded to by the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Babangida Aliyu.
They are rather seeking support for President Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo to seek for a second term in 2015.
JSSFAH said it is the constitutional right of both individuals to seek another term in office if they deem it necessary.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, and jointly signed by the National President and Secretary of the group, Hon. Franklin Ekong, and Mr. Idoko Hilary Nduka, JSSFAH urged President Jonathan to go for a second term.
The group explained that Jonathan’s presidency in 2011 was divine providence and not by manipulations of some cabals.
It stressed that if the President decides to run in 2015, he will get overwhelming support of Nigerians as he did in 2011, adding that his transformational projects, which are already impacting the lives of the people, will be an added advantage.
The statement reads in part: “We want to call on Nigerians to join hand with this God-given leader to transform Nigeria rather than trying to engage Mr. President in uninteresting, wasteful arguments that are uncalled for.
“It is our desire as a group to advise good people of Nigeria to disregard any argument that is of personal or group interest that President Jonathan agreed to do one term.”
