Five shot dead as Boko Haram, security operatives clash in Sokoto

No fewer than five members of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, have been shot dead by security operatives in Sokoto, Sokoto State.

In an early morning raid of the Boko Haram hideout in Bado Quarters in Sokoto by a combined team of soldiers, police and Department of State Security Service operatives, several sophisticated arms and ammunition were also recovered.

The Boko Haram members were said to have engaged the security operatives in a gun duel.

Acting on a tip-off, the security operatives stormed the area in the wee hours of Wednesday.
