The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, is to be without electricity for 30 minutes on Sunday (today).
The interruption, which will last from 10am to 10:30am, according to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, is to switch over to a more stable power source.
A statement by FAAN’s Yakubu Dati, said: “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public, especially users of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja that there will be a brief interruption of power supply to the airport on Sunday, March 10, 2013, between 10.00am and 10.30am.
“The temporary disconnection of power supply is to enable our engineers switch over to a new and improved source of power supply to the airport, as part of the power improvement project for the airport. It is expected that the new source of power supply will drastically reduce the incidents of power outage and thereby enhance service delivery at the airport.
“The power improvement project, which is taking place simultaneously in major airports across the country, is designed by the Federal Government to improve electric power supply at all airports, as part of the Transformation Agenda in the aviation industry.”
