Journalist’s kidnappers demand N16m

The kidnappers of a journalist, Olubunmi Oke, have demanded for a ransom of N16 million.
The kidnappers made the demand on Friday.
This was after the car in which Oke was riding, when she was kidnapped on Thursday, was found at Igbara Oke, an outskirt of Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Oke was returning from her place of work, the Nigerian Television Authority, Akure, Ondo State, when her car was blocked by four gunmen, who ordered her house help and baby out of the car and took her away.
On Friday, Oke’s abductors allowed her to speak with her husband and made a demand of N16 million.
The family is, however, negotiating for a ransom of N8 million to be accepted.
There has been no word from the kidnappers after this.
Sources privy to the discussion between Oke and her husband said she did not sound like she had been harmed.
