Teacher killed, three female students injured as gunmen attack schools

A teacher, simply identified as Mallam Kachalla, was killed and three female students injured when gunmen, suspected to be members of dreaded sect, Boko Haram, attacked schools in Borno State on Monday.
The schools attacked were Shehu Sanda Kyarimi, Ali Askiri Primary and Mafoni Day Secondary School in Ruwan Zafi and Mafoni wards of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
No fewer than six gunmen in two tricycles attacked the Shehu Kyarimi Secondary School, after forcing their way in.
The spokesman of the Joint Task Force in Borno State, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, said in a statement on Monday that Mallam Kachalla was killed at Sanda Karami Secondary School.
The three female students, who were critically injured, were taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital by the JTF patrol team that rushed to the scene of the incident, the statement said.
Musa said the attack on Mafoni Secondary School and Galadima areas of Maiduguri by the suspected Boko Haram members was averted by the JTF.
Three suspected terrorists were shot dead during the confrontation with the JTF and arms and ammunitions recovered.
Two AK 47 Rifles, 200 rounds of ammunition, two video recorders, one laptop and two tricycles were recovered by the JTF.
