We should be offering government amnesty – Boko Haram

Dreaded sect, Boko Haram, has said it should be the one offering the Nigerian Government amnesty and not the other way round.
The group said it has done nothing wrong for the government to offer it amnesty.
The leader of the group, Abubakar Shekau, in a message released to newsmen on Thursday, said Boko Haram has “not committed any wrong to deserve amnesty.”
Shekau, in the audio message in Hausa language, added: “Surprisingly, the Nigerian government is talking about granting us amnesty.
“What wrong have we done?
“On the contrary, it is we that should grant you pardon.”
Shekau said the Nigerian state has committed several atrocities against Islam and Boko Haram.
Nigeria’s President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, after persistent pressure from some prominent Nigerians, including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad, had offered the group amnesty.
A committee, whose membership was not disclosed, is said to be working with the office of the National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, to work out the terms of the amnesty deal.
