Golden Eaglets whitewash Black Starlets 6-1

Golden Eaglets of Nigeria staged a return to the 2013 Confederation of African Football U-17 championship on an impressive note as the Coach Manu Garba-tutored side walloped the highly rated Black Starlets of Ghana 6-1 with Isaac Success scoring four of the goals and promptly emerging the hot contender for the Golden Boot as the highest goal scorer of the tournament.
Eaglets red hot striker, Isaac Success, already likened to the late former Super Eagles goal king, Rashidi Yekini, proved that the five goals he scored in the six matches played in the six qualifying matches prior to the African Championship was not a fluke as he scored four goals to set the stage for the routing of the Ghanaian team.
The Nigerian coach had showered encomiums on Success, Nigeria’s highest goal scorer in the qualifying stages, and also tipped him for success in the competition.
Nigeria returned to the competition on Sunday when the Eaglets torn to shreds the Ghanaian team 6-1 at the Stade de Marrakech, Morocco to send a strong signal that the Eaglets have come not just to play but to conquer.
The team is participating in the competition after missing out of the 2009 and 2011 editions staged in Algeria and Rwanda.
The all-conquering Garba Manu lads go into this tournament as the best team from the qualifying series, winning all six games and scoring 21 goals in the process, letting in a lone goal.
Ahmed Umar scored the fifth goal while Kelechi Iheanacho completed the routing of the Ghanaian team, scoring the sixth goal before the 34-year-old Morrocan referee, Jiyad Radouane, blew his whistle to call it a day in the match.
