Boko Haram, JTF clash: Stray bullet hits varsity student

A student of the University of Maiduguri has been hit by stray bullet during a clash between dreaded sect, Boko Haram and the Joint task Force in Maiduguri, Borno State.
A statement by the spokesman of the JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, said the incident occurred at 5:50am on January 4 at Gwange, when terrorists attacked a JTF location.
The statement reads in part: “During an exchange of fire, a taxi was caught in the cross fire.
“Unfortunately, a stray bullet hit one of the passengers who is alleged to be a student of University of Maiduguri.
“The injured student in the taxi was escorted to the University of Maidu-guri Teaching Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention and responding to treatment.”
