The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Tarabe State, Victor Bala Kona, has said that the Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, was not brain dead.
Kona, who spoke on Friday in Abuja against the backdrop of reports that Suntai, who was involved in a air mishap suffered brain damage, said the governor’s brain was not affected by the crash.
According to Kona, Suntai only needed time to recover from the effects of the crash, which occurred on October 25, 2012, plane crash in Yola.
Addressing the press in Abuja on Friday, Kona said: “Contrary to all negative comments in some quarters, the governor did not sustain any brain injury or spinal cord injuries.
“He is not partially paralyzed. “Rather, he is in full sense and the right frame of mind. “He speaks, eats and does all the normal things every agile, strong person can do. “Gentlemen of the press, this governor survived an air crash.
“And the process must take its course.
“Those expecting him to recover overnight are only trying to make him superhuman and are not being honest.
“He is human and surviving an air crash is no child’s play.
“He needs time to go through the current stage of physiotherapy he is vigorously doing.”
